Life is short and precious

Remember the sunday times article about the tongue cancer patient? I always wanted to visit her blog thats written on the paper, somehow i managed to remember and searched through my pile of newspaper. Browsing through the article again, saddness just filled me in i guess. It seems somehow there's a bond. Reminds me of my classmate which succumbed to cancer last year , it's just plain misery for his close friends. Browsed through her blog and my emotion just went deeper. I really admire her fighting spirit. Looking at the comments given by strangers on her blog, i cant help but think why would something like this happen to a girl like her?

Blog links : http://onlyskindeep.blogspot.com/ and a blog created by her friends to update the progress http://joanchanshufang.blogspot.com/.

Cant believe i took around 30 minutes to wrote this entry, pausing in between lines, going deep into thought, before coming out to type again. There're many more thoughts inside, only blogging out small little parts. Words just cant explain most of my thoughts.. I hope she recovers well eventually so that she'll be able to continue her life, its amazing how her faith in god kept her fighting on the cancer.

Live your life to the fullest. Go hug your parents, say i love you to your loves one, start doing things you always didnt dared to do. Reminds me of a scene in the show dead poet society. Carpe Diem. Gather ye rose buds.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying,
And this same flower that smiles today,
To-morrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse and worst
Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
and while ye may, go marry;
For having lost just once your prime,
You may for ever tarry.

My favourite passage from the movie :

Keating: Now I'd like you to step forward over here. They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? --- Carpe --- hear it? --- Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.
